Correct. For all cultures in democracy, the status quo of larger parties need to be broken. Surprise the F out of them and actually vote for a party which you belive in.

Many people who vote make their decision on
a. My mom and dad voted like this
b. I have always supported party X.
c. My friends vote X and they will hate me if I vote any other way
d. I actually believe that they will change in due time, so I would like to keep them in power
e. The party I would like to vote for won’t “win” and make a difference. I’d rather vote for a winner.

Answers to these things are
a. Grow up you big momma’s boy! Move out from their house then.
b. Times change, so do values. If the values do not correspond.
c. Vote the way you like and then lie to your friends. Easy. Or grow some backbone and stand up for your beliefs.
d. Parties are neither good nor bad. They only listen to voter numbers every four years.
e. It is not about winning or losing! It is about making a bloody stand! Vote liberal, vote communist, vote conservative, vote right wing, vote Pedro for all I care, but do not vote on the most popular party just because you want to belong to “the winning group”. School elections work that way. Reality doesn’t.

Whew, that was a long tirade.
