An illustration can be anything. From a tiny little symbol in a logotype to a whole series of drawings for a book or magazine. The purpose of an illustration is not necessarily to be artistic. Its purpose is to illustrate and hammer home a message, often in conjunction with text. An illustration is not to be interpreted as art, but has a purpose to make ideas and messages to be understood more clearly.
I have worked as an illustrator since childhood, one of my first forays into the industry was creating illustrations for Swedens National Television. I illustrated a court case where cameras were banned. Since then I have advanced from hand painted and inked drawings to also use computer generated illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator and the likes. My style is of a cartoon character och charicature.
